About Dhamma Ajanta Center
Situated near the historically significant Ellora Caves and the tranquil Sulibhanjan Hills on the outskirts of Aurangabad (easily accessible within 20-25 km from transport links), Dhamma Ajanta Vipassana Meditation Center provides a serene environment to both experienced old Vipassana meditators and new mediators, creating an environment deeply conducive to serious meditation.
Established in 1995 and expanded onto its 15-acre property near Rampuri village in 2012, the center offers a range of Vipassana courses: 7-day programs for teenagers, 10-day introductory courses for new students, and longer Satipattahana and advanced courses for experienced students.
Center is currently operational with --
- 84 Cells for individual meditation out of the planned 200 cell Pagoda.
- 100 fully equipped residential rooms.
- Separate dining halls for male students and female students.
- walking area that support the daily schedule and continuity of practice.
- A meditation hall with a capacity of 120 students.
- Four mini-halls for teacher interactions and multilingual discourses.
The existing infrastructure provides a conducive atmosphere for both new and experienced Vipassana practitioners seeking a tranquil and supportive space for intensive meditation. The vision for the future includes-
- Expanded residential capacity to 200.
- Larger separate Dhamma halls for men and women (100 capacity each).
- 200 Cell Pagoda for individual serious meditation.
